Jinhee Park
Jinhee Park is an artist who works primarily with knit textiles in various forms, including installations, sculptures, and performances. She focuses on conceptual and physical amalgamations, offering a new perspective on society through individual narratives.
Jiyoon Kim
Designer Jiyoon Kim focuses on the essence and relationship between materials and users. He is not confined by the physical limitations of materials and incorporates media in virtual spaces, such as augmented reality (AR). By delving into the core of these relationships, he explores human-centered concepts.
The story of you, me, and us living through imperfect times
The exhibition <Muddling Through> tells the story of you, me, and us living through imperfect times. It captures the present, where individuals in both larger and smaller societies walk their own paths at their own pace and in their own way.
The <Muddle> series, consisting of pendant lights and floor lamps, expresses the contrast between two materials—softness and hardness—along with light.
The light symbolizes the efforts of individuals living through tangled times, metaphorically conveying that they are complete when the light seeps in.
Jinhee Park meticulously weaves a single thread with a needle, creating an autobiographical narrative. In the irregular patterns crafted stitch by stitch, she captures imperfect fragments of daily life, which together portray the beauty of existence.
Jiyoon Kim’s interest lies in the 'essence' and 'relationality' of human beings. His work focuses on interrelationships, starting from 'individual adaptation'. By using a 3D printer to stack filaments into elaborate spirals, he creates aesthetically idealised shapes. By adding irregular thermal deformation to the mechanically produced objects, he captured the unique distinctiveness of each individual, even amidst imperfections.
Starting from either a micro or macro perspective, 'Muddling Through' seems to tell highly personal stories
but expands into a narrative of all our experiences by illuminating hidden relationships in daily life.
It conveys greetings, wishing well-being to all who stand amidst the imperfect present.
