Artist Rin Cho’s textile work is founded on “homing” and “nomadism”. It began with her aspiration for ethnic cultures in regions like South America and India. Cho examines the handcrafts of such cultures where people lead exotic lives in relatively primitive ways. She then reinterprets this in a form of modern design, looking for the possibilities of freedom and wandering in everyday space.

Time to Wander
- Woven Window

At the exhibition “Time to Wander”, Cho embarks on

a journey of discovering the techniques of primitive handcrafts, being inspired, studying in depth and reinterpreting them through her pieces. This voyage reflects the concept of nomadism, freedom,

and wandering.

Under the theme “Time to Wander”,

the “Woven Window” series is of loom tapestry work.

The “window” acts as a bridge to liberation and breakaway from daily life.

Colorful geometric patterns are reborn as voluminous linear textile, creating a space filled with luscious textures.

As the work hangs it resembles a levitating carpet

that could carry us away to the world of freedom.
